Chillicothe’s New Fire Truck Makes Stop At MU Fire & Rescue Training Institute

Before Chillicothe’s new Fire Truck was even delivered, it was put on display at the MU Fire and Rescue Training Institute’s Winter Fire School in Columbia.  The truck was ordered in May of 2023 at a cost of $1,020,000.  Fire Chief Eric Reeter explained how the community can afford to make this type of purchase.

Thanks to the voter-approved fire tax.

The truck is expected in Chillicothe sometime on Saturday.  Once it arrives, the department will need to have radios installed, which is scheduled for Monday.  They will then begin moving equipment from the current pumper and preparing to put the truck in service.
