The annual meeting of the Chula Rural Fire Department was held Wednesday evening.
The Fire Chief Jeff Gilespie made a report of fire calls for the year. This includes 15 fire calls and 28 medical calls. They also provided mutual assistance to Chillicothe and Wheeling for a total of six calls.
The fundraising efforts for the department went well, bringing in more than $7,500
The department purchased a new set of turnout gear and received a donation for another set.
They purchased a used trailer and side-by-side that was set up for use on grass and field fires.
The board election included Shane Gilespie re-elected to the board and David Gilespie was elected to the board – replacing Jamie Rhodes.
The final action was to keep the annual dues the same as the previous year.
