Council Approves 15 Sets Of Fire Fighter Gear

The purchase of 15 sets of Fire Gear for the Chillicothe Fire Department received City Council Approval.  Fire Chief Eric Reeter made the presentation.  He says the gear expires after 10 years and they replace one of two sets every five years.  Reeter says they planned to replace a total of 24 sets, but price increases reduced that to 15 sets.  The cost per set is $4,477, totaling just over $67,000.

Could use available credits to purchase the remaining gear later in the year.

The gear being replaced could be made available to other departments
