Council Approves 911 Dispatch Contract

The one-year agreement with Livingston County to provide E911 dispatch services was approved by the Chillicothe City Council. The ordinance had been tabled at an earlier meeting.  City Administrator Roze Frampton says there had been concerns about the landline funding for 911.

If the 911 Taxing District passes, when does the Landline funding end?

The county will ask voters in August if they will support forming the taxing district to operate 911 services in the county.

City Attorney Robert Cowherd explained when the landline funding would stop.

When the new board deems they are fully operational.

Cowherd says that will allow some overlap in the funding.
