Chillicothe’s Police Detectives Amanda Bowlen and Sam Wright attended the Midwest Counterdrug Training Center Overdose Investigations course. The course is designed to provide the necessary knowledge and skills to safely and effectively respond to opioid drug overdoses.
In the program, the officers learn how to preserve the crime scene of a drug overdose, gather information, conduct witness interviews, and collect evidence to determine the circumstances leading to the overdose. In addition, they also were instructed on post-scene investigation techniques, conducting suspect interviews, and the arrest process and prosecution of drug distributors.
