An Extreme Heat Warning is issued by the National Weather Service until 7:00 am Tuesday. The warning is for all of north Missouri and west-central Missouri, due to dangerously hot conditions, with heat index values up to 113.
Heat-related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events.
Recommendations include: Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
Try to handle outdoor activities early in the day.
