Fall Prevention Event Postponed

A fall prevention event scheduled this week is moved due to weather concerns.  Aging in Place is hosting an event focused on fall prevention.  In partnership with the Livingston County Health Center and Hedrick Medical Center, the Fall Prevention Fair originally scheduled for this Wednesday will now be held on October 8th, from 9 a.m.–noon, in The Gardens at the hospital.

Luci Skaggs, Rehabilitation Manager at Hedrick Medical Center explains “Knowledge is key to preventing falls.”  She says by identifying dangers and applying practical solutions, individuals can safeguard their independence. Taking proactive steps can significantly lower the chances of falling and boost overall health.”

The event will feature various screenings and information booths, all designed to help educate attendees on potential fall risks, tips on avoiding falls, and health assessments that can determine whether medical interventions could help reduce the risk of falls.

The event is free to attend, and attendees will have the opportunity to win door prizes.
