‘Feed The Funnel’ Exceeding Goals To Feed Those In Need

Feed the Funnel, a program by the Lillian DesMarias Youth Library to fight against food insecurity, has surpassed its original goal of 10,000 meals.  Maggie Moore explained the importance of the program.

Helping those who have food insecurity, especially children.

Through the program, they are packing nutritious shelf-stable meals that will be distributed in the community.

Moore says they surpassed the 10,000 meal mark.

Now at 17,000 meals funded through the program.

They are accepting donations to help with the program.  Moore says 37 cents is the cost of one meal, so $37 pays for 100 meals.

The library will be packing meals on June 19th, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm, and they are accepting volunteers to help.  Call 660-646-0563 for more information.
