Fire In Utica Damages Home – Destroys Shed

The Chillicothe Fire Fighters responded to a report of a structure fire in Utica, just after noon on Monday.  The call came in at 12:06 and fire crews arrived on the scene at 608 Throop in Utica in 9 minutes.

Utica and Mooresville Departments were both notified to respond if possible. The Chillicothe firefighters arrived to find a shed fully involved with fire and fire had also spread to the house located about 10 feet away.  Utica Fire was already on the scene and putting water on the fire.

Both fire departments focused on putting the house fire out first and once that was extinguished, they put out the remaining fire on the shed. No injuries were reported.  Approx. 3000 gallons of water was used to extinguish the fire. The house was severely damaged and the shed was completely destroyed.

Fire crews were on the scene for less than an hour.
