A report of smoke in a house at 217 Clay Street summoned Chillicothe Firefighters at about 2:30 pm Sunday. The crew arrived in three minutes to find smoke coming out the front door of the two-story home. They located an electric blanket smoldering on a mattress. A water can was used to extinguish the fire. The mattress was removed to the backyard and fans were used to remove the smoke from the home. They were on the scene for about 30 minutes.
