Restoring full meal service for the Grand River Multi-Purpose Center may be possible in an agreement with the Livingston County Commission and the Livingston County Senior Tax Fund Board. The senior center had announced moving to a three-day-a-week congregate meal schedule beginning this month due to the reduction of funds related to the Federal Government shutdown. Presiding Commissioner Ed Douglas says the senior center is $10,000 to $11,000 short of reinstating the regular schedule for the next 30 days.
$5,000 each from the Senior Tax Fund and County Commission.
Contracts need to be worked out and signed, but Douglas says it’s pretty much a done deal.
