Guilty Pleas Entered In Two Livingston County Cases

Two Chillicothe residents entered guilty pleas.

A Chillicothe man serving three years in prison for possession of a controlled substance was in Livingston County Court on three cases, entering a guilty plea on one charge.

Thirty-nine-year-old Steven Robert McCann pled guilty to a charge of stealing from October of 2022.  The plea deal included the dismissal of two other cases which include charges of alleged receiving stolen property and unlawful possession of a firearm from February of 2023, and alleged burglary and stealing from March of 2024.  As part of the deal, the prosecuting attorney recommends 7 years in prison, and restitution of $11,960.75 plus $75.00 equaling a total of $12,035.75.  The sentence would run consecutively and to any other sentence.

Judge Ryan Horsman accepted the plea agreement and ordered a sentencing assessment report.  The sentencing hearing is set for June 5th.

McCann was returned to the custody of the state to continue serving his current sentence.

 

 

A man accused of Domestic Assault pled guilty in Livingston County Circuit Court.  Twenty-two-year-old Matthew Ryan Miller of Chillicothe entered the guilty plea before Judge Ryan Horsman.

In exchange for the defendant’s plea of guilty, the Prosecution recommends a sentence of 7 years in prison, suspended, and 5 years of supervised release. There is to be no contact with the victim.  If approved, the sentence would run consecutively to any other sentence.

A Sentencing assessment report was ordered and the sentencing hearing will be held on June 5th.
