Health Center Offers Free Liver Tests

Free liver tests are available through the Livingston County Health Center.  A grant from the American Liver Foundation is making free testing for Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease or NAFLD available.  Lori Murray an RN at the Health Center says this is a comprehensive blood test.

Blood panel valued at $250 and is completely free.

Murray says there are risk factors that have been identified for the disease.

Risk factors for the disease include: Pre-Diabetes, Diabetes,
Elevated Triglycerides, High Cholesterol, High Blood Pressure,
Metabolic Syndrome, and BMI 30 or higher.

Testing at the health center will be provided by appointment, those interested should call 660-646-5506 for more info or to set up a time for testing.   Fasting is required for at least 8 hours prior to the blood draw.
