Storms moved through the region Thursday evening, resulting in damages and localized flooding.

Heavy rain caused localized flash flooding Thursday evening. The heavy rains moved across the Chillicothe area late in the 4:00 pm hour, and between 5:00 and 6:00 pm. Chillicothe received 2.34 inches of rain. The rainfall total continues to rise as the rain moves across the region. Chillicothe had received 2.9 inches by 8:00 am, measured at the Litton Ag Center.
Rainfall totals across the community reflected similar amounts.
There were citizen reports of roads and yards flooding due to the heavy and sudden rainfall.
Flood watches and warnings are issued for much of the listening area until late tonight, with a flash flood warning that includes Carroll, Chariton, and Ray Counties to our south.
