State Troopers report two crashes and an arrest in Daviess County Tuesday.
A motorcycle crash early Tuesday morning left the driver with serious injuries. The crash occurred on Interstate 35 in Daviess County as the driver, a 38-year-old man from Liberty, was exiting the freeway at about 2:45 am into a truck parking area. The driver went off the road and struck the ditch. He was taken to Liberty Hospital for treatment. He was wearing a helmet.
A 38-year-old Liberty Man was arrested and released for treatment on Tuesday morning. State Troopers arrested James C. Kirk at 2:49 am in Daviess County. The highway Patrol reports the following charges: felony eluding, possession of a controlled substance, unlawful use of a weapon, speeding, careless and imprudent driving, no insurance, no license, no valid plates, failure to transfer a title, failure to register a vehicle annually, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
A two-vehicle crash in Daviess County left a 79-year-old woman with minor injuries. State Troopers investigated the crash on East Grand Street at Clay Street in Gallatin. At about 6:20 pm, a pick-up driven by a 59-year-old Gallatin man was northbound on Clay and failed to yield, striking a vehicle that was westbound, driven by a 79-year-old Gallatin woman. She was taken to Cameron Regional Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries. They were wearing safety belts.
