Chillicothe firefighters responded to two fires Friday.
Just before 4:00 pm, they were called to 1103 Calhoun for a structure fire. They arrived to find heavy smoke in the area and smoke and fire on the outside of the home and on the front porch. The fire was put out and the crew used thermal imaging cameras to check for hot spots in the walls. The owner reported throwing a cigarette out a window, which landed in bushes and dried leaves. She had left and when she returned found the fire. The fire crew was on the scene for just over an hour.
