The report of a house fire at 1123 Clay Street summoned Chillicothe Fire Fighters at about 12:30 pm Thursday. The fire crew arrived in two minutes to find the house fully involved and the occupants out of the building. Heavy smoke and flames were coming from the front door and front windows as well as a west side window. About 2,500 gallons of water was used to put out the fire that caused severe damage to the building.
The State Fire Marshal was called to investigate the cause of the fire.
