Jay D. Shirley Pleads Guilty, Is Sentenced

A former teacher at Grand River Technical School, 55 year old Jay Dee Shirley pled guilty to charges of 1st Degree Sexual Misconduct and 4th Degree Assault.  The plea was entered Wednesday before Judge Michael Leamer in Livingston County Associate Court.

Shirley was sentenced to fifteen days in jail on the Assault charge and for the Sexual Misconduct charge, he was sentenced to six months in jail – suspended, with two years of probation.  The sentence is to be consecutive to the fifteen days for the assault.

Shirley is held at the Caldwell County Detention Center.
