The crash occurred as a 26-year-old man from Lawson was southbound on Route DD and failed to stop at Highway 6, and was struck by a westbound vehicle, driven by a 38-year-old Union Star man.

The Lawson man’s vehicle went off the south side of the road, coming to rest on its wheels.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Union Star man’s vehicle went off the south side of the road and overturned, and struck a utility pole and fence before coming to rest on the driver’s side.  He had minor injuries and was taken to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph for treatment.
