Live With Chronic Conditions – MU Extension

Self-management for chronic conditions is a program by the University of Missouri Extension.  Living a Happy Life is the online class presented Mondays from October 30th to December 11th.  The program is for older adults who suffer from at least one and often two chronic conditions.  The program is to assist participants in maintaining quality of life.  The program is free, and each participant will receive the Living a Healthy Life with Chronic Conditions book and a relaxation CD. Classes are open to anyone who deals with chronic conditions or is a caregiver for someone with chronic conditions.

Topics to be covered include:  Making Healthy Food Choices, Increasing Physical Activity and Exercise Safely, Coping with Pain and Fatigue, Communicating Effectively with your Health Team, and Development of action plans to improve your health and well-being

Classes will be held from 2:00-4:30 p.m. Registration is available online or contact the Mercer County Extension office at 660-748-3315.
