The Livingston County Sheriff’s Department report for the latter half of June includes several incidents and arrests.
Deputies arrested drivers for license violations, speeding, and outstanding warrants, including a Kansas woman who was arrested after a traffic stop on Highway 36 for alleged DWI, felony drug possession, and speeding. Another Illinois driver was arrested for speeding 96 miles per hour, while another was cited for driving with a suspended license.
Deputies also responded to the death of a 79-year-old woman at a residence in Dawn, where the county coroner was called to the scene. Investigators are looking into reports of a stolen firearm taken from a vehicle sometime within the past three months and a stolen ATV reported missing from a property near Chula.
In addition, deputies investigated two separate animal neglect cases involving dogs left without adequate access to water during extreme heat.
