Unemployment numbers for May 2025 are up across nearly all the local counties compared to the April figures. The Missouri Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development released the most recent unemployment figures.

Daviess…………. 3.2%, up from 2.8% in April
Sullivan………….. 3.5%, up from 3.3% in April
Livingston………. 3.6%, up from 3.3% in April
Chariton…………. 3.7%, up from 3.5% in April
Linn………………. 3.7%, steady from April
Caldwell…………. 3.9%, up from 3.8% in April
Carroll…………… 4.0%, up from 3.8% in April
Grundy………….. 4.3%, up from 4.1% in April
The State of Missouri is at 3.9%, up from 3.8%.
The US unemployment figure is at 4.0%, up from 3.9%.
