Mitigation Projects For Roy Blunt Reservoir

While the construction of the Roy Blunt Reservoir Dam and Spillway could begin soon, the mitigation for the project is already taking place.  Brad Scott from the North Central Missouri Regional Water Commission explains the mitigation requirements.

Stream and Wetland mitigation required by the federal government.

Scott says much of that work is taking place at Swan Lake.

Rehabilitation of the refuge.

He noted another area is habitat mitigation.

 

Created a conservation easement protecting the Long-eared Bat and the Indiana Bat.

Scott says both are cost-saving measures that are considered innovative.
