Nearly Half Million Dollar Power Generator Repairs Approved

An ordinance authorizing nearly a half million dollars for repairs to one of the Electric Generation Units for Cillicothe Municipal Utilities was approved by the Chillicothe City Council.  The work is being done both at CMU and at WEG Electric Corp.

The work on the invoice includes:

  • Turbo Minor Maintenance
  • Rotor Removal
  • Rotar Installation
  • Exciter Assembly Rewind
  • Generator Commissioning

CMU General Manager Matt Hopper says this is a portion of the work taking place on the generator, and the eventual total could be near $1.6 million.
