New Ambulance Remount Ordered

Ordering a new chassis for an ambulance was approved by the Livingston County Ambulance District Board.  Chillicothe Fire Chief Eric Reeter says the district will do a remount, using the box from a current ambulance, but replace the chassis (frame, cab, and driveline) and save about half the cost of a new ambulance.

The company will refurbish the box and then mount the box on the new chassis.

The lead time to do a remount is about two years for scheduling and about six months for completion. That means the remount will be completed in 2027.
