A new system to report and track outages with Chillicothe Municipal Utilities was recently implemented. CMU has teamed with Hometown Grid to provide an online outage reporting system that provides real-time updates and a map of current power outages, water leaks, and sewer backups.
Under the new system, customers will now call 888-906-5510 to report an outage or leak. Customers can also use the same number to text and report the outage.
When using the system, you will be asked to answer a few basic prompts to help utility crews identify the source of the problem and add the address of the outage to the live map.
Once reported, you can then track outages on the map to see when power is restored. The outage map is available through the CMU website or on the hometowngrid.com site.
