A Brookfield man faces charges of alleged Rape and Sodomy following the investigation of an incident alleged to have occurred May 29th. Twenty-four-year-old Ervin McAllen Wells III was arrested June 9th and charged in Linn County Court following the investigation by the Brookfield Police Department.
The incident involved a juvenile victim who had been reported missing after she met with Wells. The acts are alleged to have taken place at two locations.
After the victim returned home, she was taken to the hospital and later to Unversity Hospital in Columbia for a Sexual Assault Forensic Examination.
A warrant was issued Monday, and Wells was arrested that day. Bond was set at $100,000. Arraignment was held Tuesday and a request for a bond reduction was denied. A formal bond hearing will be held Thursday in Linn County Associate Court.
