Plans for the spillway for the Roy Blunt reservoir have been approved and the construction permit was issued by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources. North Central Missouri Regional Water Commission officials said this action is a significant milestone and is necessary before construction can proceed.
Prior to the government shutdown, pre-qualification of General and Specialty contractors was completed. With the government reopened, the commission is awaiting a resolution to some critical questions, which will then allow it to proceed toward final selection and construction.
