A single vehicle crash in Linn County left the driver with serious injuries. State Troopers report the crash occurred Tuesday afternoon on Route ZZ, east of Marceline. According to the report, at about 1:15 pm, a 61-year-old Slater man was northbound on Route ZZ, in a large truck, and ran off the right side of the road. He overcorrected, and the truck overturned, striking a road sign and mailbox.
The driver had serious injuries and was flown to University Hospital in Columbia. The passenger, a 19-year-old man from Slater, was taken to Pershing Memorial Hospital in Brookfield. They were not wearing safety belts.
