Severe Weather Preparedness Week

This is Severe Weather Preparedness Week in Missouri, as the severe weather season is not far off.  The National Weather Service Meteorologist Hallie Bova says we need to consider the different types of severe weather that can affect the area.  She says today the topic is preparedness.

Having a plan for severe weather.

Bova says you also need to know how to get the information about the severe weather.  That starts with being weather aware.  Know what the forecast is for the day and what may affect you later in the day.  She says you should know how you will get alerts for severe weather.

How to get the warnings from various sources.

Of course, KCHI will be here for you with announcements of impending severe weather and when tornado and severe thunderstorm warnings are issued, we will have live updates on the weather in our area.
