Expansion of the Fountain Grove Conservation Area was approved by the Missouri Conservation Commission in their meeting in Chillicothe. One-hundred-thirty acres was purchased as an addition to Fountain Grove CA for a total of $625,000 – which is $4,808 per acre.
MDC Media Specialist Erin Woodiel says the land is immediately adjacent to the southern portion of Fountain Grove CA. The area is predominantly bottomland hardwood riparian forest with approximately one mile of Grand River frontage.
