Senate Bill 727, recently signed by Governor Mike Parson to increase the baseline pay for teachers also includes funds for recruitment and retention. Chillicothe R-II Superintendent Dr Dan Wiebers says he will try to get some of those funds.
Says the staff enjoyed the benefit of the retention grants.
He says the recruitment funds can help with getting noncertified staff certified and working with the district as teachers.
