State Releases The September Jobs Report

The State’s Jobs report for September was released today (Wednesday), three months late due to the Federal Government shutdown.  The September report shows non-farm payroll increased by 18,300 jobs, private industry employment increased by 4,400 jobs, and government employment increased by 13,900 jobs.

Missouri’s smoothed seasonally adjusted unemployment rate remains steady at 4.1 percent.  That is four-tenths of a percentage point higher than in September 2024.

The monthly unemployment report for September, with a breakdown by county, will be released on December 17th.

Officials told KCHI, there would be no jobs or unemployment report for October or November.  The next reports will be for December and will be released in January.
