A two-vehicle crash Monday morning in Sullivan County took the life of a passenger and left six people injured, including four with serious injuries. One of the seriously injured was a state trooper. According to the report, at about 7:20 am, a pick-up was eastbound on Highway 6, between Green City and Green Castle, when the pick-up driven by a 25-year-old Milan man, crossed the center line and collided head-on with the state trooper’s car, driven by a 28-year-old man. The pick-up came to rest in the roadway on its side, while the patrol vehicle ran off the roadway, coming to rest on its wheels.
A 62-year-old Milan woman, a passenger in the pick-up, was pronounced dead at the scene. She was not wearing a safety belt.
The Trooper and driver of the pick-up had serious injuries, along with two passengers from the truck, a 17-year-old boy and a 43-year-old woman – both from Milan.
Two other passengers were also injured, including a 46-year-old man with moderate injuries and 21-year-old man with minor injuries.
All of the injured were taken to Northeast Regional Medical Center.
