The call came in at about 8:40 and the crew arrived to find a two-story home fully involved. The crew worked to extinguish the fire and stop it from spreading to other structures. The home was a total loss. There were no injuries and the crew was on the scene for two and a half hours. The cause of the fire is undetermined.
Trenton Fire Department responded to a grass fire Friday afternoon near Wright Memorial Hospital. The call came in at about 3:04 pm, and the brush truck arrived to find a small grass fire that was spreading in all directions. The crew quickly put out the fire that was caused by a wheel that came off a vehicle or trailer because of a wheel bearing failure. The wheel came to rest in the grass, and the heat caused a fire to ignite. The crew was on the scene for about 20 minutes.
