Trenton Police Investigating Homicide

Trenton police are investigating a homicide that occurred in Trenton on Saturday.  Police Chief Rex Ross says they were called to 205 Ellison Street at about 11:20 pm on a report of a gunshot and a man with a gun.  They found a man with a gunshot wound.  That person was checked by EMS, but died of his wounds.  He was identified as 46-year-old David Willey of Trenton.

Chief Ross reported the suspect in the shooting was stopped in Clark County, Iowa, by the Iowa State Police at 1:10 a.m. Sunday. The suspect sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound roadside. The suspect is 45-year-old Chad Kelly of Excelsior Springs, Missouri.   Iowa Authorities confirmed Kelly died as a result of his injuries.

Ross says additional information may be released as it becomes available.
