A grass fire that spread to a nearby home summoned Trenton Firefighters Wednesday afternoon. The call came just before 2:00 pm to 1805 Crestview Terrace. The fire crew arrived to find heavy smoke from a yard burning with light fire extending to a home on the west side of the yard.
Water was used to put out the fire on the house and cool any hot spots. The crew then worked on making sure the grass fire was out.
The fire started with burning garden vegetation and spread to a leaf-covered yard and quickly spread with the wind. The fire crew was on the scene for about 30 minutes.
