Braymer Suspended From CLAA

The Braymer C-4 School District has been suspended from the Carroll-Livingston Activities Association (CLAA) as a result of two incidents that took place during basketball games in December, along with previous recurring problems and the involvement of law enforcement leading to this decision. A letter from the CLAA conference indicates the incidents involved athletes, coaches and spectators.

In a meeting of the Superintendents of the participating schools last week, coaches and administrators provided accounts of the issues and video footage was reviewed. The 12 Superintendents voted 11-1 to suspend Braymer C-4 from the conference until the CLAA official winter meeting on February 5th. Braymer was the sole dissenting vote.

The CLAA letter states that as part of the suspension:

  • Any remaining scheduled conference basketball games involving Braymer C-4 will not count as an official CLAA game and may be canceled without penalty
  • An official vote regarding Braymer’s future membership in the CLAA will take place at the February 5th meeting
