Chillicothe Invitational 2025 Welcomes 26 Teams, 300 Runners

Chillicothe High School hosted the 2025 Chillicothe Invitational, welcoming 26 teams and more than 300 runners to Simpson Park for an evening of competitive racing. Despite tired legs from a demanding stretch of the schedule, the Hornets rose to the challenge on a tough and hilly course, earning multiple medals and strong team finishes.

Varsity Boys (82 runners)

  • 2nd – Luke Thompson

  • 15th – Spencer Johansen

  • 18th – Trace Akers

  • 22nd – Brody Norris

Varsity Girls

  • 4th – Sophie Hurtgen

  • 11th – Payton McGee

  • 19th – Myli Johansen

Junior Varsity Boys

  • 2nd – Anthony Eckert

  • 3rd – Mikah Yeomans

  • 4th – Garrett Wheeler

  • 5th – Sam Saale

Team results were highlighted by a runner-up finish for Varsity Boys, narrowly missing first place by just one point, while the Varsity Girls placed third overall.

The CHS cross country program extends a sincere thank-you to all volunteers, course workers, and community members who came out to cheer. The support and energy from so many made the event a great success.
