Hornets Best Richmond at Holiday Hoops

It was Holiday Hoops night for the Chillicothe Hornets basketball team at NCMC Monday night, taking on Richmond.

With the game tied 5-5, Burke Beetsma entered the contest for Chillicothe and scored the team’s next 10 points. Beetsma was the catalyst for a 15-0 run that gave the Hornets a 23-7 advantage.

The lead at halftime was 29-18 for Chillicothe. Richmond threatened, midway through the 3rd quarter, cutting the deficit to 8, but the Hornets wouldn’t allow the Spartans any closer.

Burke Beetsma connected on 4 three pointers, part of his career high 18 points. As a team, Chillicothe made 8 threes. The outside shooting opened up space for Jaishon White who was in double figures once again with 15 points.

Chillicothe pulled away for a 57-37 win over Richmond to improve to 4-4. The Hornets will play next on Saturday in the first round of the LeBlond Tournament.
