Hornets Take Out Tigers in California Tournament

The Chillicothe Hornets boys basketball team traveled to California on Tuesday for the opening round of the 91st Annual California Basketball Tournament. The 7-4 Chillicothe Hornets, as the 3 seed, played 6th seeded Warrensburg.

 

The Tigers held an early 5-4 lead when Chillicothe went on a 16 to nothing run, and ultimately opened up a 35-19 halftime edge. The Hornets decisive ball movement dissected Warrensburg’s defense keyed by Jaishon White and Sol’jier Allen who were both in double figures at the break.

 

The Hornets remained in control in the 2nd half. White dominated the glass for Chillicothe and was unstoppable in the paint finishing with a game high 19 points. Allen connected on multiple threes and added 17 himself. Chillicothe moves into the California Tournament semifinal following the 60-38 victory.
