The Lady Hornets golf team was in Sedalia on Monday for the Smith Cotton Classic. Chillicothe competed in the Class 1/2 division against Brookfield, Hallsville and Versailles. The Lady Hornets continued their strong play, placing first over Hallsville by 4 strokes, 394-398. A great showing from Presley Rardon led the way for Chillicothe as she shot a 94, tied for 2nd in the field. Lyla Oesch and Gracelynn Barnett each scored a 96, while Caylee Anderson with a 104 was also in the top 10. Ava Lance finished 14th out of the 25 golfers in the tournament shooting a 109. Maggie Bennett of Brookfield had the best round in the tournament with a 91, but it was the Chillicothe Lady Hornets lifting the Class 1/2 team trophy in Sedalia.
