The Chillicothe Lady Hornets left no doubt Monday night, rolling to a 16-2 victory over Moberly in five innings at Danner Park. The next night Chillicothe went on the road to Maryville and won with a resounding 26-5 final in just three innings.
Chillicothe’s bats were red-hot against Moberly, collecting 12 hits and plating runs in every inning. Kenzie Fleener led the surge with a monster night, going 3-for-4 with 6 RBIs, including a double. Maddie Robinson also had a big game at the plate, finishing 3-for-3 with 3 RBIs and a pair of doubles. Landry Marsh added a pair of hits and 3 RBIs including a home run, while Ellie Acree, Hayden Hansen, and Ashlynn Daugherty each drove in runs.
In the circle, Jordan Foster earned the win, throwing 3 innings with just 1 run allowed and 3 strikeouts. Jaiden Rodenberg closed it out, working 2 innings and striking out 2.
The Hornets sealed the win with a seven-run third inning, then added three more in the fourth to trigger the run rule.
With the victory again Tuesday over Maryville, Chillicothe improved to 16-5 on the season, showcasing both offensive power and pitching depth in a dominant performance.
