Tigers Take Down Chillicothe

The Chillicothe Hornets soccer team was on the road at Kirksville Thursday night. Chillicothe opened the match with high energy, and a strong defensive strategy. Against a talented and cohesive Kirksville team, both sides had few chances in the opening 20 minutes. Then in the 25th minute Tigers’ midfielder Camdin Puckett blasted a shot into the upper corner of the net from distance to give Kirksville the lead. The Tigers fed off that momentum to add two more goals before the half.

At the break Kirksville was ahead 3-0 but quickly doubled their lead, scoring three more times in the first 13 minutes of the 2nd half. Ultimately the Tigers tacked on two more to win 8-0.

Kirksville is now 6-2 on the season, Chillicothe falls to 2-3. The Hornets will host Benton next Tuesday in an MEC matchup.
