Yoo Jung Lee Repeats As State Wrestling Champion

Chillicothe Lady Hornets wrestler Yoo Jung Lee entered the Class 1 State Championship wrestling meet in Columbia looking to defend her title in the 125 division.

Lee won her first two matches by fall to advance to the semifinal where she defeated Alivia Bottoms of Boonville by tech fall, setting up a rematch of last years state finals. Yoo Jung Lee beat Emmy Begemann of Fulton in 2024, for the state crown, and the two competitors met on the mat again this year. Lee won by tech fall over Begemann in 2:58 to defend her title.

Yoo Jung Lee finishes her senior season with a 37-3 record, and joins elite company in Chillicothe wrestling history, as one of only 3 athletes in school history to be a two-time wrestling state champion.
