Main Street Chillicothe is receiving honors for Silver Moon Plaza in Downtown Chillicothe. Main Street Director Ben White announced this week that Silver Moon Plaza won the “Great Public Space” award through the Missouri Chapter of the American Planning Association. White says this is a high honor given to places that have great design and are an integral public place in the community, full of activity.
White says,
“We are very fortunate to be recognized for this award, and Silver Moon Plaza is a community gathering place where everything from a wedding to a concert is held. It has truly come to be a centerpiece in our downtown and a point of pride in our community. It’s an honor to be recognized by such a prestigious organization for the amazing place it is.”
An awards ceremony will be held in the Capitol Rotunda in Jefferson City, March 6th at 11:00 am and all are invited to attend.
