Annual Kid’s Fishing Derby

The annual North Missouri Sportsman’s Alliance Kid’s Fishing Derby is on June 1st.  The event will be held at the large pond on the west side of the Chillicothe Baptist Home.

North Missouri Sportsman’s Alliance and Missouri Department of Conservation are hosting the event that includes a couple of firsts.  NMSA President Steve Shoot says “For the first time in our many years of conducting the Fishing Derby we have a couple of eating establishments who are donating our lunch.”   They will also have members of the Livingston County Veterans Association (LICOVA) helping with the event..

The Kid’s Fishing Derby will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 noon, with registration beginning at 8:30 a.m.

Shoot says every kid 15 years of age and under who is participating in the fishing derby will receive some free fishing tackle when they register.

At the completion of the event, there will be drawings for over $1,000 in fishing gear to be given away to the kids who have participated in the fishing derby.
