A local bank made a significant donation to the Home of Sliced Bread. President Ed Douglas says the $20,000 donation comes through the purchase of Missouri Tax Credits that benefit the Home of Sliced Bread. Douglas says this is a big step forward for them.
The Home of Sliced Bread is currently offering approximately $145,000 in tax credits over a three-year period to support its fundraising efforts. Funds will help sustain and enhance programming, tourism initiatives, and preservation of the historic site where sliced bread was first introduced to the public in 1928 – an innovation that helped put Chillicothe on the map.
