City Council Approves Items For Chillicothe Municipal Utilities

Approval for turbine repairs and a land purchase for CMU were handled by the Chillicothe City Council.  CMU General Manager Matt Hopper presented the estimate for the turbine repairs for the Electric Generating Department.

A preliminary estimate for work that could be significantly higher.

The estimate is $607,076 to get the work started.  The final cost is expected to be under a million dollars.

CMU also requested the purchase of a piece of property adjacent to the Brunswick Street Substation.  The property is owned by CIDC.

CMU made improvements to access the substation 20 years ago.

CIDC offered the property at a price of $5,000.

The council approved both requests unanimously.
