The Tax Rate Hearing for the City of Chillicothe was held at the start of the City Council meeting on Monday. City Administrator Roze Frampton says there were no comments from the public on the tax rate.
The Council approved the ordinance adopting the Tax rate, set at $.8509 per $100 assessed valuation.
Chillicothe Mayor Theresa Kelly recommended Mike Murrell to fill an opening on the Railroad Advisory Board. That was approved by the council.
An ordinance was approved to have Red Rock conduct Asbestos Inspections on 17 properties that are part of the Chillicothe demolition project funded through the Community Development Block Grant. Red Rock will identify the asbestos and the work needed for removal. Later, the city will approve a separate contract with a company for asbestos removal.
In the Closed Executive Session, the Council approved hiring a Firefighter/EMT. They will need to complete the paramedic training under the contract.
